Booking Link in Your Instagram Bio - Step by Step (Plus WhatsApp, Facebook and Google)

By Omer Rahmany, founder of Timing · Updated October 1, 2026

How to put a booking link in your Instagram bio, WhatsApp Business profile, Facebook Page button and Google Business Profile - and how to tell which one brings bookings.

Updated 1 October 2026.

The Short Answer

So customers can book without messaging you back and forth, put the same booking link in four places: your Instagram bio, your WhatsApp Business profile, the action button on your Facebook Page and your Google Business Profile. The link is the address of your booking page. In Timing it looks like this: app.timingapps.com/lp/ followed by your business ID, and you can copy it from the "Share business page" button.

Copy it once and paste it in all four places. Write a line in your bio that invites a tap, for example "To book - link below". Add a source tag to each link so you know where bookings come from. Menu names in these apps change from time to time, so the instructions for Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook are a general direction. The Google steps were checked against Google's help page on 1 October 2026.

Step 0 - Copy Your Link

Every Timing business has a booking page with a permanent link. The customer opens it in a browser, with no app to install and no phone call.

  1. In the app, open the "Business page" tab.
  2. Tap "Share business page".
  3. In the window that opens, choose "Copy link". Another option, "Image for post", creates a designed image with a QR code for a story or a post.
  4. Open the link yourself in a browser and make sure the page looks the way you want a customer to see it.

Instagram

  1. Open your profile and tap "Edit profile".
  2. Choose "Links" and add an external link.
  3. Paste the link and give it a clear title, for example "Book an appointment".
  4. If you have several links, put the booking link first.
  5. In your bio text, write a line that says what to do: "To book - link below".

Tip: create a Highlight called "Book" with a short story showing how to book. A new customer who is not sure what to do will see it right away.

WhatsApp Business

These steps are for the WhatsApp Business app, not regular WhatsApp.

  1. Open Settings, "Business tools", then the business profile. Add the link in the website field.
  2. In the catalog, add an item called "Book an appointment", with a short description and the link.
  3. Set up a quick reply (for example "/book") that contains the link. Every customer who asks "do you have room this week?" gets an answer in two seconds.
  4. Add the link to your greeting message and your away message.

Facebook Page

  1. Go to your business Page and tap the action button at the top ("Add button", or "Edit" if a button already exists).
  2. Choose a button that fits booking, for example "Book now" or "Contact us".
  3. When asked for a destination, choose your website and paste the link.
  4. Save, then tap the button yourself to test it.

The available buttons depend on the Page type and version, so the button name on your Page may differ.

Google Business Profile

Per Google's help page (support.google.com/business/answer/6218037):

  1. Sign in to your business profile at business.google.com.
  2. Choose the action type, for example booking an appointment, and tap "Add link".
  3. Enter the link address and save.
  4. If you have several links, you can mark "the business's preferred link" and it will appear first.

Per the same page, you can add up to 10 links in each action category, and adding is manual: you cannot add such links through the Business Profile API.

How to Tell Which Profile Brings Bookings

The same booking page opens from four places, so you need to tag where visitors came from. Add a source tag to the end of the link in each place: ?utm_source=instagram for Instagram, ?utm_source=google for Google, and so on. The page usually opens the same way with the tag, but tap each link yourself before you publish. If you have an analytics tool that reads the tags, you will see how many visits came from each place. Without one, ask every new customer "how did you find us?" and write the answer on the customer card. Some platforms also show link taps in their own statistics. After a month you will know where to put your effort.

When Customers Do Not Tap

  • The line in your bio should say what happens after the tap: "To book an appointment".
  • The link should lead straight to the booking page, with no step in between.
  • Keep the same link everywhere. If you change it, you update four places.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I write in my bio so customers tap the link?

A short line saying what happens after the tap, for example "To book - link below". Name your main service, and put the booking link first if you have several links.

Can I use the same link everywhere?

Yes, and it is recommended. That way there is one address to update. Add a source tag to the end of the address in each place (for example ?utm_source=instagram) to know where visitors came from.

Does a customer need to install an app to book?

No. The customer opens the link in a browser and books without calling and without installing anything.

How do I know which profile brings the most bookings?

Tag each link with its source, and if you have no analytics tool, ask every new customer how they found you and write it on the customer card. After a month you will see where to put your effort.

Do I need WhatsApp Business to add a link?

A business profile, a catalog and quick replies are part of the WhatsApp Business app. In regular WhatsApp you can send the link in a chat, but there is no business profile.
