How to create a split service
A split service is built from work phases with waiting in between, like color that develops before a rinse. During the wait you are free to take another customer, so your calendar fills up without making your day longer.

The business services list. Open an existing service or create a new one
Tap a service that has waiting time in the middle, or create a new one with the plus button. Name, price, and duration are filled in as usual.

Zoom
The service form. Turn on "Split service"
Scroll the form to the "Split service" toggle and switch it on. The customer stays with you for the whole service, but you are only busy during the work phases.

The "Split service" toggle in the service form. Set up the phases
Set the minutes for each phase: work, wait, then work. "Add phase" adds more rounds, up to four waits in one service. Below the phases you will see the total the customer books.

The phase editor: work, wait, work. Optional: limit what fits in the wait
Inside the wait card you will find the "longest appointment that can be booked during the wait" field. It controls which services are offered in the freed time. With no limit, any appointment that fits the wait will be offered.

The fill limit inside the wait card. Tap "Save"
From now on, when a customer books this service the waiting time shows on your calendar as a band labeled "Waiting - free for another booking", and other customers can book exactly into that window.
Tips from the field
The key difference: "waiting" in a split service FREES your calendar, while "rest time between appointments" in availability settings always blocks. They are two different tools.
Great for color that develops, gel that dries, treatments with a pause, or any service where the customer waits in the middle.
You can adjust the phases for one specific appointment from the appointment itself in the calendar, without changing the service for everyone.
Common questions
Existing appointments keep the phases they were booked with. The change applies to new bookings only.
Split services are available on the Professional plan and above. On other plans the toggle shows a lock with an upgrade option.
Yes. In the phase editor each work phase has an "open for bookings" toggle, for those who work with two customers in parallel. At least one work phase must stay closed.
