How to Choose an Appointment Booking App for a Small Business in Israel (2026)

By Omer Rahmany, founder of Timing · Updated October 16, 2026

Eight questions to check before you pick an appointment booking app in Israel: a Hebrew booking page, WhatsApp reminders, price and VAT, the free plan, team size, Google Calendar, cancellation rules and leaving with your data. And how Timing answers each one.

Updated 16 October 2026. The facts about Timing in this guide were checked against our pricing page on 13 October 2026.

The short answer

To choose an appointment booking app for a small business in Israel, check eight things before you compare prices: whether clients book on their own from a Hebrew booking page, which plan sends WhatsApp reminders, the monthly price and whether VAT is added to it, how many appointments the free plan includes, how many team members you can add, whether appointments reach Google Calendar, how cancellation rules work, and how you take your data with you if you leave. An app that answers these well for your business beats one with a long feature list you will never use.

Timing is one of these apps, and we run it, so this guide is not neutral. It does not rank vendors. The table below shows how Timing answers each question and from which plan, and the last section says honestly when another app will suit you better. For prices across vendors, see the price and plan comparison of appointment apps in Israel.

Eight questions to ask before you choose

1. Can clients book on their own, in Hebrew, without installing an app?

A client who books on their own does not call, does not wait for a WhatsApp reply and does not catch you in the middle of a treatment. Check that the booking page opens from one link you can put on Instagram, WhatsApp and Google, that it works in Hebrew from right to left, and that clients see only times that are really free. Check also whether you can approve each request before it enters your calendar.

2. Which plan sends WhatsApp reminders?

In Israel clients live on WhatsApp, and a reminder before the appointment is the simplest tool against forgetting. Some vendors include WhatsApp reminders only in their second or third plan, and some entry plans include SMS only. Check which plan sends the reminder automatically, whether you can choose when it goes out, and how many messages a month are included.

3. What does it really cost, VAT included?

Most of the vendors we checked publish prices before VAT, so the invoice is higher than the page. Check what limits the entry plan too: a cheap plan capped at 25 appointments a month can cost more than a pricier plan with no cap once the business grows. The full comparison, with an example business at 60 appointments a month, is in the price comparison.

4. What does the free plan really include?

A free plan is useful for a business that is starting out, but it is usually limited in appointments, team members or messages. Check how many appointments a month it includes, whether it sends automatic reminders, and what happens when you reach the cap. We wrote a separate article on exactly this: what is really free in appointment apps.

5. How many people can work on the same calendar?

A one-person business needs something different from a salon with three employees. Check how many team members each plan includes, whether each one has their own working hours, and whether the client chooses who to book with.

6. Do appointments reach Google Calendar?

If you run your life in Google Calendar, appointments that do not show up there cause double bookings. Check which direction the sync runs in and from which plan.

7. How are cancellations handled?

Check whether you can set a cancellation deadline the client cannot get around, whether the client can confirm attendance with one tap, and what happens to a freed slot: does it go automatically to a client who was waiting?

8. How do you leave, if one day you want to?

Check that you can export your client list and appointments to a file, that there is no annual commitment you cannot cancel, and that you can import your clients from your previous app without typing them in again.

When another app will suit you better

  • You need the client to pay when booking. Deposits and upfront payment at booking are not available in Timing right now. If that is a must for you, choose a vendor whose pricing page shows card payments.
  • More than 5 people work on the same calendar. On Timing's Premium plan up to 5 people work in one business.
  • You need medical records. In Timing each client has a card with visit history and notes, but it is not a medical records system. A clinic that must keep clinical documentation needs a system built for that.
  • A cash register, inventory and payroll are your main need. Timing's pricing page does not list them. Some vendors list them explicitly.
  • You want a discount for annual billing. Timing bills monthly only.
  • You mainly want new clients. Timing is built to manage the calendar and the clients you already have, and we do not promise any number of new bookings.

Three common mistakes when choosing

  1. Comparing only the entry price. A cheap plan with a low appointment cap gets expensive fast, and a price before VAT looks lower than what you will pay.
  2. Choosing by the number of features. Ask yourself what you will use in the first week: a booking page, reminders and a client card. The rest can wait.
  3. Not checking the client's side. Open the booking page on your phone as if you were a client and book an appointment. If it takes more than a minute, your clients will feel it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What matters most when choosing an appointment app for a small business?

Three things first: that clients can book on their own from a Hebrew booking page without installing an app, which plan sends automatic WhatsApp reminders, and the monthly price with VAT and the appointment cap. In Timing the booking page is on every plan, the WhatsApp reminder goes out from the Basic plan (₪79 a month on the website), and the website price is final, with no VAT added.

Is there a free appointment booking app?

Yes, several vendors publish a free plan, usually with a cap. Timing's Free plan includes up to 15 appointments a month for one person, with a branded booking page and no credit card, but with no automatic reminders. The full breakdown is in our article on what is really free in appointment apps.

How much does an appointment app cost for a small business in Israel?

On the pricing pages read on 1 October 2026, the paid entry plan costs between ₪49 and ₪149 a month, and most vendors publish prices before VAT. In Timing the Basic plan costs ₪79 a month on the website, the price is final and appointments are unlimited. The full table is in the price comparison.

Can I move to Timing from another app?

Yes. Export your client list from the previous app to a file, and import it into Timing from an Excel file. Timing recognises the columns by their headers, in Hebrew too. If you want to leave later, CSV export of clients and appointments is available on every plan.

Is this guide neutral?

No. We run Timing. That is why the guide does not rank vendors, every fact about Timing carries its plan, and it has a section on when another app will suit you better.
