How to set up an automatic message

An automation is a rule you set once, and from then on the message sends itself: a birthday greeting, a monthly reminder, or a nudge to a customer who has not returned.

Where to start

Navigation menu, Automations

  1. Open the automations screen

Open the navigation menu and choose "Automations". You will see your existing rules and how many are active.

  2. Choose when it sends

There are six triggers: a customer's birthday, every month on a fixed day, a date from the customer card, a customer who has not returned after a number of days, a new customer, and a form that was sent.

  3. Choose who receives it

Add conditions to narrow the audience, so the message reaches the relevant customers rather than everyone.

  4. Write the message

Tapping a variable in the bar inserts it into the text, and it is replaced with the real value on send, for example the customer's name. The preview shows exactly how it will look.

  5. Mark the message type

Marketing goes only to customers who opted in, carries the advertisement label and an unsubscribe link as the law requires. Operational is a service message and goes to every matching customer.

  6. Send a test, then switch it on

Send yourself a test, read it on your phone, and only then activate the rule.

Tips from the field

Start with one rule. An automation that works is worth more than five you are unsure about.

The messages count against your plan's monthly quota, exactly like sending by hand.

A rule that is switched off does not count against the active-rule limit.

Common questions

Professional allows up to 5 active rules, Premium is unlimited. Free and Basic do not include automations.

Marketing is a promotion, greeting or offer, so it only goes to people who opted in and is labelled as an advertisement. Operational is a service message such as a payment reminder. The classification is your call.

A customer who unsubscribed receives no further marketing messages, and that is enforced automatically on every rule.
